SANTA'S SLEIGH TOURS

Bridlington Round Table extends far beyond our members.

We are proud to help the lives of others, going above and beyond, through the camaraderie and support between table members, Past Table and B41'S.

Our brand new Santa sleigh brought so much joy to Bridlington last December with a grand reveal in Tesco's car park, Round Table is about working as a team bringing the whole community together and ensuring that profits go to brilliant local causes and charities.

Raising over thousands of pounds a year we help people across our community every day.

Not bad for a group of young men.

Every little helps for new sleigh

A group of charity fundraisers are celebrating after being awarded almost £4,000 from a national supermarket chain.

Bridlington Round Table were voted as winners in the most recent Tesco Bags of Help Competition, with two other local groups receiving cash donations.

The Round Table is a locally-based voluntary fundraising group that organise the annual Santa’s Sleigh run around the town. This year the group raised a record total of £5,147, which is all given out to local good causes.

Sam Berridge, from Bridlington Round Table said: “We would like to thank each and every one of you who supported us and voted in our favour in the recent Tesco Bags of Help competition. We were up against some tough competition but we came first in the competition which is amazing.”

He added: “The money we receive will help towards the building of the brand new Santa’s Sleigh. The Sleigh will be brighter, louder and more magical than ever before and with some exciting ideas in the pipeline, Christmas 2018 will be very special.”

Anne Marie Jenkinson, who is the Bridlington Tesco Community Champion said: “We are delighted to handover the award to Bridlington Round Table. I’ve seen them every year since I was a child and the magic never wears thin. We are happy to help with keeping the tradition going.”

The old Sleigh has been in use for well over thirty years, and problems with the chassis has led to the decision for it to be replaced. It is estimated that the sleigh has travelled over 1050 miles and raised in excess of £100,000 for local causes.

Said Sam: “Remember all the money we raise goes directly back into the Bridlington community; changing lives and supporting some incredible people, groups ….. the list is endless.

Once again thank-you to everyone who has supported us. We couldn’t do what we do without everyone who supports us. You are all simply amazing.”
